The Argentine economy is a complex labyrinth. It is plagued with distortions, controls, U.S. dollar prices of all types and colors (including the blue dollar), a plethora of financial instruments with indecipherable names, export taxes and import pre-authorizations, fiscal and quasi-fiscal deficits, decrees of necessity and urgency and omnibus laws, rampant inflation, and recession. This analysis aims to unravel Argentina’s economic maze by using the minimum necessary elements of economic analysis to try to shed light on the present and future of President Javier Milei’s stabilization program.
