The Journal of Globalization, Competitiveness, and Governability

The Journal of Globalization, Competitiveness, and Governability (GCG), published by Georgetown University and Universia, and edited by Professor Ricardo Ernst from the McDonough School of Business, was launched in 2007 to create a source of reference for Ibero-American companies and countries on topics related to business administration, public policy, and effective management.

The GCG studies the relationship among globalization, competitiveness, and governability for different stake holders at different levels in the Ibero-American region, and it evaluates the tools available to private and public sector leaders to design better strategies to benefit their respective businesses and countries. The journal also facilitates communication among Latin American academic communities, bringing them closer and structuring them around the study of specific areas.

Over the years, GCG has established itself as an important source of knowledge for businesses and governments alike. The GCG leading advisory board includes former presidents such as José María Aznar (Spain), Fernando Henrique Cardoso (Brazil), Vicente Fox (Mexico), and Andrés Pastrana (Colombia); and its editorial board is comprised of renown professors from some of the best universities in the Ibero-American region and the United States.

The focus given to quality has qualified GCG as an A-rated journal, ranking 56 out of 233 among all Spanish human and social sciences magazines in Scopus. According to the 2015 Scopus Scimago Journal Ranks (SJR) Report, the GCG has been referenced 713 times in different articles, research papers and other journals; and it ranked 177 in the in the category of Business, Management and Accounting; and 170 in the category of Economics, Econometrics and Finance respectively.
