Philip Kearns is a finance and investment leader with a career spanning global financial institutions, asset management, and environmental governance. He holds a B.Ec (Hons) from the Australian National University and a PhD from the University of Rochester. He spent four years at Goldman Sachs and five years at Morgan Stanley before joining the D. E. Shaw group, from which he recently retired after serving as co-CIO of D. E. Shaw Investment Management. 

Philip spent 10 years on the board of The Nature Conservancy in New York and currently serves on the board of The Nature Conservancy Australia. His interests lie at the intersection of climate finance and environmental strategy, including education programs, research into market structure, effective financial instruments, and policy design.
