With growing geopolitical tensions, shifting alliances, technological disruptions, and rising protectionism, understanding the emerging geoeconomic order is critical for Latin America and the Caribbean. The Georgetown Americas Institute (GAI) is proud to host GEO-LAC: Latin America in the New Geoeconomic Order, a dialogue series exploring the evolving landscape of global trade, investment, supply chains, and economic alliances—placing Latin America at the center of the conversation.

As part of this series, the Georgetown Americas Institute (GAI) is pleased to invite you to a conversation with Everett Eissenstat, senior partner at Squire Patton Boggs, who has held senior leadership roles in the U.S. Congress, the Office of the United States Trade Representative, the White House, and a Fortune 50 company.

At a time when the United States is redefining its trade strategy around economic security, industrial competitiveness, and strategic competition, the international trading landscape is undergoing a profound transformation. In this context, Eissenstat will discuss the future direction of U.S. trade policy and the opportunities and challenges it presents for Latin America and the Caribbean. The conversation will also explore how these shifts intersect with broader global debates—such as the future of the rules-based trading order, the reform and revitalization of the World Trade Organization, the reconfiguration of critical and strategic value chains, and the governance of emerging technologies—as well as the evolving policy responses across the transatlantic and transpacific arenas.

The event will feature an introduction by GAI Director Alejandro Werner and a conversation hosted by Antoni Estevadeordal from the Georgetown Americas Institute’s Latin America in the Global Economy program.
